September in Birdland

Man, September is off to another rough start. It seems like every year, due to the schedule, the O's just get beat up on no matter who they're playing. The schedule this year includes, Boston, New York, Minnesota and an unbelievably stellar Tampa team. Tonight is just another example of the Orioles not having the horses to get to the finish line.

Jeremy Guthrie hasn't looked himself, and the team agreed. He's not even starting in the series finale against Boston. The September call-ups don't seem to be helping because they are inexperienced. It just seems as if it's the same old song every year. Hopefully, things will get better.

On a positive note, I have noticed significant improvement in the minor leaguers at Double-A and lower levels. Maybe, next year...

And now watching today's latest pen meltdown, I'd like to thank Baltimore once again for trading the realiable and reasonably priced Bradford to the Rays for a PTBNL (better be a good one or you'll hear from me no end) so they could get a look at Rocky Cherry, Kam Mickolio, etc. And now the latest to greet the scene, Jim Miller, throws away another one in Boston.

Thanks again very much. Perhaps you can next consider trading Nolan Reimold to the Rays for another PTBNL. Heck, he's got no spot in Baltimore, what do ya need him for?
