Freddie Bynum

The Orioles said goodbye to one of the worst regulars in their history. Freddie Bynum was designated for assignment by the team this morning and brought up reliever Ryan Bukvich.

Although it is a minor move, it is huge in terms of the Orioles. They essentially named Alex Cintron shortstop and did what many of the fans were screaming about for a couple months. Bynum was hitting under the Mendoza line and was adding nothing to the team. Also, the team needed another pitcher because of Radhames Liz's poor start Friday night. This move makes a lot of sense. More compliments to Andy MacPhail.
